Kindie registration, open enrollment start the new year

Open Enrollment –
Parents wishing to enroll children in a Douglas County School District school other than a designated neighborhood school, must complete an open enrollment form. Open enrollment forms can be completed the district website at www.dcsdk12.org (click on “o” and then select “Open Enrollment” to access the form; paper forms are available to families without computer access.) Forms must be completed by January 5.
Per Douglas County School District policy, a child may enter kindergarten if he/she is five years old on or before October 1 of the year of enrollment, and enroll in the first grade if he/she is six years old on or before October 1 of the year of enrollment.
Kindergarten Registration –
Castle Pines area elementary schools will enroll kindergarteners starting in January.
American Academy Charter School:
The lottery for the 2012-2013 school year has taken place. For more information, visit the school’s website. If you missed the deadline to be included in the lottery for 2012-13, you can still add your family to the online wait list system. Your student(s) will be added to our wait list behind all the students that were included in the lottery. Late entries are added in first-come first-served order. For details, visit the school’s webstie at www.americanacademyk8.org.
Buffalo Ridge Elementary School (BRE):
BRE kindergarten registration will be January 4 for existing families from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; January 5 for new families from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Registration will be from 8:30 a.m. – noon on Friday, January 6 for any family that cannot register during the fourth or fifth. Please download the 12-13 kindergarten registration packet on the BRE website at: http://schools.dcsdk12.org/bre. Bring the completed packet along with birth certificate, shot records and a lease, purchase contract or warranty deed for proof of residency.
DCS Montessori School:
The lottery for the 2012-2013 school year has taken place. You may still apply to the school by completing a lottery application form. Students will be placed at the bottom of the wait list in the order in which applications are received. To download an application form, visit www.dcsmontessi.org and click on “Application Process.”
Timber Trail Elementary School:
TTE kindergarten registration will be January 4 from 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. for existing families, January 5 from 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. for new families, or January 6 from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. for families who cannot register on the fourth or fifth. Bring the completed packet along with birth certificate, shot records and a lease/purchase contract or warranty deed for proof of residency.
