The Castle Pines North Master Association, the North Lynx HOA, and the Daniel’s Gate Rec Association hosted the City’s first Community Child Safety Day on Saturday, May 10 at the Daniel’s Gate Clubhouse.
Rovercomer, Solid Life Christian Center’s giant fuzzy white dog, greeted children and handed out balloons, drinks, and doughnuts during the event.
Firefighters from South Metro Fire Rescue were also on hand for bike helmet safety checks and provided prizes to kids who could answer questions in a game called the “Wheel of Safety.”
The Children’s Hosptial also participated in the event, offering bags of helpful child safety information. The hospital’s pet therapy dog B.J. was also among the favorites.
Other Community Child Safety Day sponsors included:
American Family Insurance, Julie Sequeira (child ID kits)
Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DARE information)
Poison Control Center
Business in the Pines
Allstate Insurance, Brett Tieken (DNA kits, fire safety kits, and teen driving kits)
Kid’s Pages Family Media (face painting)
Special thanks to CPN Master Association Treasurer Anna Mallinson, Carla Kenny with Business in the Pines, and Ward 1 City Councilperson Jennifer Havercroft for coordinating this event.
