The building elevation shows detailed information on the approved addition to the west side of Journey Church. At this time, there is no construction timeline for the expansion.

On May 12, Douglas County Commissioners approved the site plans for the expansion of Journey Church located at 9009 Clydesdale Road between the Surrey Ridge and Oak Hills neighborhoods.

The church opened in August 2017, and the congregation has continued to grow over the past few years. Approximately 1,500 children and adults attend Journey Church Sunday services. Currently, the church has 350 seats. With the new addition, it will seat 500 attendees. Sidewalks and landscaping will be added around the new addition. The current retention pond will also be increased.

The new section will extend 105 feet to the west and is approximately 95 feet wide along the west elevation. (See building elevations.)

Scotty Priest, lead pastor of Journey Church, is grateful to make room and meet the needs of the growing community, but noted that construction will not be underway soon. “We are on pause with our timeline for construction until things settle down due to COVID-19,” he explained.
