“Besides Cherokee Ranch and Castle, the only other public appearance internationally known jazz pianist Henry Butler has on his June calendar is the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. — I point this out not only to toot Henry’s horn, but Cherokee’s as well,” said Cherokee Ranch and Castle CEO Donna Wilson.
Wilson continued, “If people along Colorado’s front-range want to hear and see Henry — and they SHOULD definitely want to see and hear HENRY — they’ve only a short commute from their front door to ours.” Cherokee Ranch and Castle is nestled in 3,100 awe-inspiring acres adjacent to the communities of Castle Pines Village and Castle Pines North. Centrally located, it’s a short commute from Boulder, the Denver Metro area as well as neighborhoods including Highlands Ranch, Parker, Castle Rock, the Tri-Lakes area and Colorado Springs.
Wilson said, “Cherokee guests are fortunate because this tremendous artist and award winning photographer is booked to perform at Cherokee Ranch and Castle twice this season.” Butler’s first Castle appearance, entitled “A Dash of Sounds Flavored by the Crescent City” and presented by the Henry Butler Trio, will be June 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the Cherokee Ranch Veranda Tent. Butler returns to the Castle to play solo September 25 at 6:30 p.m.
“If you miss Henry in June or figure you want a double dose of his magic, it’d be a good idea to make reservations now for September,” Wilson said. “For his return solo performance Henry plans to vary his repertoire by blending the traditions of New York City, his second home, with the music for which New Orleans is famous.”
“Guests will hear selections from classic American cinema, songs associated with Manhattan cabarets and the Great White Way, along with barrelhouse piano and oh-so-elegant jazz and blues.” Wilson noted, “Henry already has quite a following and it’s growing.”
Both the June Henry Butler Trio and September Henry Butler all-inclusive evening entertainment packages include castle tour, supper buffet, cash bar, performance, dessert and coffee reception with the musicians. June reservations: $60/person; September Solo Event: $90/person. For reservations call 303-688-5555 ext. 5 or 303-688-4600. For more information, visit www.cherokeeranch.org or www.henrybutler.com.
