Local artist and mother of two, Nancy Meisner, will share the artistic spotlight with her children this fall.
Not one, but three members of the Meisner family will be among the featured artists at the Front Range Art Exhibit at the Philip S. Miller Library in Castle Rock from October 9 though November 3.
The exhibit is held only for local artists, with all eligible participants residing within a 35 mile radius of Castle Rock. Meisner’s son, Ryan, was selected for his pumpkin watercolor painting and Meisner’s daughter, Allyson, was chosen to display her acrylic and glue representation of a fish. Allyson was also declared artist of the week by the National Arts Program.
Meisner’s one-hundredth piece entitled “Sunflower in Bloom” will be on display with her childrens’ pieces. There will be a reception open to the public on October 15 where the three Meisner artists will be featured and winners will be announced.
In addition, six of Meisner’s paintings will be displayed at Compass Bank on Castle Pines Parkway from September 1-15.
“The best part of being an artist is how proud my kids are of me,” said Meisner. She said that often times her daughter will paint side by side with her at the kitchen table. With an aspiring talent of her own, the young Meisner hopes to become an artist like her mom when she grows up.
