Holiday season date ideas
A beautiful hike up to Castle Rock on a sunny (albeit sometimes crisp) day is a great way to spend quality time with a loved one.

The leaves are turning, the snow is falling, and love is in the air. Don’t miss the opportunity to spend the most cozy and romantic time of the year with your loved ones. Here are some of our favorite fall/winter date ideas:
Tell them you love them a latte!
The 80108 area is full of cute coffee shops to explore. Try MiYO in The Village at Castle Pines or locally-owned Lost Coffee on Perry Street in Castle Rock. If you want to venture even further, you can try the adorable Monk and Mongoose in Lone Tree. We also, of course, have a handful of Starbucks locations in Castle Pines. Show your loved one you care about them a latte!
Venture out on an adventure
We are lucky to have so many great outdoor spaces in our area. Take your special someone (and perhaps even bring a canine friend to join) on a scenic trek to a local park or canyon. Be sure to bring snacks and blankets to cozy up at the end of your adventure.
Let your romance shine
The annual lighting of the star atop Castle Rock is a popular event. The 2018 Starlighting festivities will take place on Saturday, November 17 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Historic Wilcox Square in downtown Castle Rock. The evening is full of performances and activities for the whole family leading up to the ceremony. Snap a picture of your date and tag us on Facebook and Instagram with the handle @CastlePinesConnection.
Spend s’more quality time
No worries, you don’t have to have caveman-like fire making abilities to partake in making s’mores. As a child, my family and I always roasted s’mores over the stove top and it was so fun! Just be careful not to toast them to a crisp, unless of course, that’s how your date likes them. You can even turn on a movie, snuggle in with some hot cocoa and make a day of it.
This time of year is full of laughter and memory making, and we wish you lots of both! The season can fly by with stress around the holidays, so don’t forget to step back and enjoy your time with your precious loved ones. Find even more local activities in this month’s E Guide.
