Happy Canyon Road roundabout update:
Temporary single-lane traffic beginning May 28
Beginning Tuesday, May 28, Happy Canyon Road, from I-25 to south of Lagae Road, began operating as single-lane traffic to allow crews to complete work for the new roundabout.
During the single-lane traffic operations, temporary signals will be set up to allow alternating north- and south-bound traffic on Happy Canyon Road. The signal timing will give preference to traffic coming from I-25 to help limit backups on the off-ramps.
The temporary traffic change will allow the final construction work to be completed earlier than scheduled. The project is expected to open with complete access to the roundabout by June 21.
This temporary single-lane traffic pattern is expected to last for approximately one week. During the switch, alternate routes are advised. Please plan ahead and expect short delays if traveling on Happy Canyon Road.
