Groundbreaking for pickleball courts at Coyote Ridge Park
On September 6, the Castle Pines North Metro District (CPNMD) broke ground for five pickleball courts at Coyote Ridge Park. Twenty-four pickleballers and supporters showed up for the early morning event. Every guest left with a new pickleball and three lucky players left with a new paddle.
“We couldn’t be more elated to finally break ground on our five new pickleball courts,” said CPNMD president Chuck Lowen.
The courts, something citizens have been asking for, will replace the skate park and parking lot that is in disrepair. Barring any construction or weather delays, the pickleball courts (and resurfaced parking lot) will be ready for play this winter.
For the skating community, CPNMD is hopeful that by this time next year, a location will have been selected. Carol Henry of Design Concepts is the park improvement designer for CPNMD and is currently looking for an alternative site for a new skatepark.
“We thank our pickleball and skatepark enthusiasts for their continued patience as we work to deliver both amenities as soon as practicable,” said Ken Smith, director of communications for CPNMD.
