Got yard debris?
Removing shrubs, tree limbs and brush from your property helps to mitigate the spread of wildfires. The good news for Douglas County residents is that the County offers two locations for citizens to dispose of excess debris/slash at no cost until October 28.
Douglas County’s seasonal slash-mulch site is located at 1400 Caprice Drive in Castle Rock. Weather permitting, it is open Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. In the case of inclement weather, call 303-663-6274 for updated information. The location also gives residents the opportunity to take home free mulch. All loads of debris must be covered upon arrival at the slash-mulch site.
The County also maintains a year-round site to collect small loads, which is located near Deckers, 7826 S. Colo. 67. It is open on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Acceptable items at both sites include tree limbs, pine needles, shrubs and brush with a maximum length of six feet and a maximum diameter of one foot.
