Golf brings about financial sanctuary

One-hundred-twenty golfers spent a beautiful day at Sanctuary Golf Course off Daniels Park Road in Sedalia to support the 10th annual Regis Jesuit (RJ) Fall Classic Golf Tournament. The golf tournament is the school’s primary fundraiser for the tuition assistance program, which enables students from all over the Denver metro area the opportunity to attend.

In the 2013-2014 school year, 23 percent of students attending RJ received tuition assistance, amounting to $2.6 million awarded in aid. Students from more than 130 elementary schools throughout the Denver area attend RJ each year, and the tuition assistance program is a vital piece to attracting a diverse selection of students.

Parents of current students, alumni and community supporters participated in this year’s tournament. Participants enjoyed a gorgeous sunny day of golf, an outdoor lunch with music provided by the RJ Advanced Jazz Ensemble, and a wonderful auction and dinner. The event was a success and put RJ on a positive road toward raising the much needed funds for the tuition assistance program.

The beautiful September day meant that the Regis Jesuit Advanced Jazz Ensemble was able to play outside much to the enjoyment of the golfers playing in the annual Fall Classic Golf Tournament.
