Giving back during the Community Garage Sale

During the Castle Pines Community Garage Sale in late May, a few young neighbors donated proceeds to worthy causes.

Sienna Mathis in HOA1 made homemade jewelry. Fifty percent of Sienna’s sales went to nonprofit Rise Up Malawi. She also gave a few dollars to some children in the Philippines through her church. “It made me feel joyful to sell my bracelets,” said Sienna. “I would like to do the sale again next year!”

HOA1 resident Julie O’Dell sold lemonade, iced coffee and pastries with all earnings from her sales going to Ronald McDonald House Charities. “It is one of the best causes around,” said Julie, who manned the stand with her dad.
