Garden club blossoms
… with annual spring fashion show
The Village Castle Pines Garden Club (VCPGC), “where friendships bloom,” celebrated spring with its annual fashion show and luncheon at the beautiful Castle Pines Golf Club on May 15. Carol McCraw and Tasha Carrington co-chaired the event, where eight garden club members modeled a variety of spring and summer fashions from Parker Panache boutique.
At the luncheon, Darcy DeRose, outgoing board president, said, “I am honored to have served for two-and-a-half years as president of the VCPGC. My tenure was incredibly enjoyable, and despite the difficult challenges of COVID, we achieved new heights in making the garden club the vibrant, active, social, educational and charitable organization it is today.” DeRose also introduced the new 2023-2024 board and welcomed Lisa Berlin as the new board president.
“I am honored to be taking the helm of this amazing organization,” said Berlin. “The Village Castle Pines Garden Club is so much more than just a garden club. We do tend gardens, but our community reach is much wider. The club has grown in popularity in recent years. My focus during my presidency is to scale our events so more members can enjoy all we have to offer.”
Summer events will include charity fundraising, gardening at the Village Lake Serenity Garden, and an event at Tweet Kimball’s Memorial Garden at Cherokee Ranch & Castle. Social events will include the popular “Wine in the Garden,” annual holiday parties, the fashion show luncheon and various field trips. The VCPGC also provides its members with educational programs throughout the year.
The VCPGC is an organization of passionate, enthusiastic members who have a joy of gardening and education and who enjoy the charitable and social activities created by the club. They look forward to sharing great friendships and impacting the communal environment in a positive way.
