Galas gone virtual

There’s nothing like getting all dressed up and joining hundreds of your friends for a night out to support a great cause. The summer months are usually when nonprofit organizations host galas and do much of their fundraising, which has been particularly challenging this year. In response, some organizations are getting creative.
“This is one Zoom call you will definitely want to be on,” said Nancy Koontz, chairwoman of the Rocky Mountain MS Center 2020 Virtual Gala. “We’re hosting our annual gala live online, and we’ve got some really great things planned.”
The Saturday, September 12 virtual gala will be free to “attend” and will last from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. – an hour packed with inspiration, a performance from Denver jazz artist Dave Camp, a cocktail demonstration, a silent auction and, of course, opportunities to support Rocky Mountain MS Center.
Several Denver-area restaurants will be donating a percentage of their proceeds that evening, so please support those participating. Free party packs with fun decorations and gifts are available in advance of the event as well.
