Free water for community events

The CPNMD Water Buggy provides water set up for a recent summer concert event at Coyote Ridge Park.

The Castle Pines North Metro District (CPNMD) has procured a water truck for community events for patrons to fill up their personal water bottles in lieu of buying plastic ones.

According to Nathan Travis, district manager for CPNMD, it has been a high priority for his organization. Last summer, he met with the Castle Pines Chamber of Commerce whose idea it was for CPNMD to be the water sponsor.

“I don’t like the environmental impacts that non-reusable plastic water bottles have, nor did I feel that was sending the right message,” said Nathan in a statement. The CPNMD began to explore the alternatives and looked at renting a water truck, but it was not an easy endeavor and not fiscally responsible, he continued. “So instead, with full support from the CPNMD board of directors, we purchased one!”

The order was placed last fall, and the “Water Buggy” has been at community events this spring and summer. Look for it at community events in the future.
