Fourth Annual Golf Tournament for Second Wind Fund

by Anthonette Klinkerman

Golfers, grab those clubs for the Fourth Annual Second Wind Fund Golf Tournament. Monday, September 8 at The Ridge, join in for a day of golf to include a Best Ball contest, and a chance to win a BMW 330 from Ralph Schomp at the Hole-in-One contest. Key sponsors include Sky Ridge Hospital, Cook Financial, and Parker Adventist Hospital.

Cost to enter is $200 per person, and includes range balls, cart, lunch, prizes and greens fees. All proceeds go to the Second Wind Fund, the program that provides services to teens struggling with suicidal thoughts.

Last year, the Second Wind Fund received $20,000 from the tournament. Fifty-eight students from Douglas County have been referred to the program since its inception in 2004.

The Kiwanis Club of Castle Pines North has taken an active interest in providing fundraising efforts for Second Wind. Members wishing to raise awareness of teen suicide anticipate the golf tournament to be a substantial contributor to the fund.
