Every year since 1988, CORE Electric Cooperative has selected 35 high school graduates (five teens from each of its seven districts) to each receive $2,000 for higher education.  The 2023 grant recipients in 80108 are Channing Bower, Beckett Fleet, Kristen O’Leary and Morgan Shirer.  CORE uses a lottery system to select the winners; there are no scholastic requirements.

“CORE’s board of directors is proud to carry on the tradition of supporting youth in our service territory,” stated Tim White, CORE’s board president.

Bower graduated from Douglas County High School and is headed to Chapman University in Orange, California.
