Food bank gets a new home
The Douglas/Elbert Task Force Food Bank has a new, spacious home at 1638 N. Park Street in Castle Rock. While some construction is still underway at the new location, the food bank set up temporary quarters in a finished section of the building and is operating Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-12 noon. The Thrift Store will be moving to the new location in mid-summer, and the food bank will move to a permanent home in the building.
With the food bank’s client base growing daily and the food storage limited, the task force can now store more frequently used items. Check the website at www.detaskforce.org for upcoming events and food drives or call 303-688-1114 for more information, a tour of the food bank, or to volunteer. Volunteers are always welcome.
