Flu season is upon us – options for getting a shot

The typical flu season lasts from around October through May, peaking in activity usually around December through February.  When considering the flu vaccine, it is good to know that in addition to your physician’s office there are convenient options available right here in the Castle Pines community that do not require an office visit prior to getting the flu shot.   

Of note, most insurances pay for the cost of flu vaccinations.  Please check with your insurance provider if you have any questions regarding coverage.  However, if insurance will not be used, details on cost are included with vaccination information below:

Walgreens

Other tips and facts about the flu from the CDC website (http://www.cdc.gov/flu/index.htm) include:
– It’s never too late in the season to get the flu shot
– The flu shot cannot give you the flu
– Practice good hand washing habits as always to prevent illness
– Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth as this is how germs are spread
