Family Man, Businessman, Musician and Author

Louis Llanes loves his family and his life in Castle Pines. He is pictured above with some of his favorite things: His wife, Jane, their 15-year-old twins, one of his two dogs and his guitar. Llanes just recently added best-selling author to his list of life’s accomplishments.
Louis Llanes has lived in Castle Pines for almost six years with his wife, Jane, their 15-year-old twins, Elisa and L.J., who are freshmen in high school, and their two dogs, Lexi and Libby. The Llanes family lived in Highlands Ranch for many years before moving to Castle Pines. They love the walking trails and close proximity to nature.
“We decided to move closer to the elk and buffalo. We enjoy the wide-open space and nature,” said Llanes. In addition to enjoying Castle Pines’ natural beauty, Llanes plays the guitar and has a recording studio in his home. “That is my first love – music,” said Llanes.
He’s also a writer, and just published his first book. Financial Freedom Blueprint was published in November 2021 and hit Amazon’s best-selling list three days later. “It was definitely a sense of accomplishment,” he said. Llanes will be one of the local authors featured in the Local Author Showcase on March 12 at Douglas County Libraries – Castle Rock.
The book was one of many accomplishments in his career that has spanned more than two decades. Llanes is the founder of Wealthnet Investments, a financial advisory firm based in Englewood. The company focuses on investment management and financial planning for individual investors.
“I have worked throughout the industry and what I have found is that many individual investors were getting a lot of conflicting advice,” said Llanes. “I set out to start a company that provides independent unbiased advice for individual investors,” he said.
Originally from Chicago, Llanes met his wife of 29 years, Jane, in Texas. The couple moved to Colorado in 1990. He earned an MBA at the University of Denver and a B.S. in finance from the University of Colorado in Denver. Llanes is involved with the Castle Pines Chamber of Commerce and other organizations in the South Metro Denver area.
Jane is also actively involved in the community serving as PTO president when the twins were in elementary school. She has successfully returned to work at Wealthnet Investments after taking time off to raise their family.
