There is no better way to introduce a new chef than to showcase their talents. The Country Club at Castle Pines (CCCP) held “The Taste” on May 21 in order to do just that. Executive Chef Joe Martin exhibited his extraordinary talents in this special evening celebration of food and wine.
California native Martin recently relocated to Colorado after spending several years at the Monterey Peninsula Country Club and after a short stint in Tucson, Arizona. Martin developed a friendship with CCCP Chief Operating Officer Ryan Cozzetto while the two worked together in Monterey, and Cozzetto was thrilled to bring Martin to the country club that he has grown so fond of.
Martin has developed a diverse repertoire when it comes to preparing food, and he is looking forward to sharing his talents with the club members. “I recognize the varied needs of a membership,” Martin explained. “I have learned so much over the years in all different experiences. This job lends itself to being able to create menus for the members who want a nice variety and never want to get bored. They will see a unique menu in terms of cuisine and also theme nights.”
“The Taste” paired excellent wines with a variety of food stations, each specially selected to exhibit Martin’s talents. Diners enjoyed a grill station, smoker station, pizza and pasta, charcuterie, fresh seafood, desserts, and so much more. The successful event was a hit with club members, and Martin and his staff are looking forward to being a part of many more events this summer at the club.
Martin could not be happier. “I love Colorado and the Country Club at Castle Pines. It’s gorgeous up here! You look outside and know you’re in the country but Denver is so close that I get the best of both worlds. I’m really excited to be starting my adventure here.”
