Elections office has moved

Information from Douglas County website

The Douglas County Elections Office has moved to 125 Stephanie Place in Castle Rock. The new location will accommodate the needed consolidation of elections division staff, as well as elections operations, into one location – currently managed in three different locations in Castle Rock.

“We outgrew our space,” said Jack Arrowsmith, Douglas County clerk and recorder. “With nearly 80 percent of Douglas County voters registered for the permanent mail-in ballot, a larger space was needed to receive, process, tabulate ballots and accommodate the post-election, state-mandated ballot storage – all of which exceeded our current space,” Arrowsmith said.

The new location will house elections staff, mail-in ballot processing (receipt of ballots, processing, and scanning in preparation for election night tabulation), state-mandated ballot storage, election judge training, improved public observation of the process, election equipment storage, staging for polling sites, and dock space to facilitate movement of large equipment and ballots.

Consolidation of all operations into the new site is intentional – to support the demands of the 2012 Elections.
