RELEASE TIME: 3:15 p.m. CASE NUMBER: N/A
WHAT: Douglas County Board of County Commissioners have Rescinded Stage 1 Fire Restrictions for Unincorporated Douglas County.
When: Effective 08/30/05 at 2:00 p.m.
NARRATIVE: DOUGLAS COUNTY, CO – Recent heavy precipitation and future weather outlooks indicate the fire danger / hazard for the county to have lessened. As a result, the Douglas County Board of County Commissioners has ordered a temporary suspension of stage 1-fire restrictions, which had been in effect since July 12, 2005. Unincorporated Douglas County is under no fire restrictions at this time. Although the severe fire danger has temporarily decreased, we must all recognize that high wildfire danger does still pose a threat. We remind everyone to use caution when starting and extinguishing campfires, disposing of lighted material such as cigarettes, and any other activities that involve the use of fire or sparks.
Information on fire restriction stages can be located at the Douglas County Emergency Management website: www.douglas.co.us
