Douglas County offers new pine needle pilot program during October

Submitted by Douglas County

Douglas County will be offering pine needle collection at the slash/mulch site, located at 1400 Caprice Drive in Castle Rock as a pilot program for the month of October from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays only.

There will be a designated area for disposal of the pine needles.  If the needles are in garbage bags, the bags must be emptied in the designated area.  Please do not leave empty bags on the site.

No grasses, trash, weeds, or tree limbs will be allowed for disposal in this designated area.  If tree limbs are combined with the pine needles,  they must first be separated and the branches disposed of in normal slash pile before the pine needles will be accepted..

If these rules are not followed, Douglas County has the right to refuse any load for disposal.
