Discount Trees Offered Through CSU Nursery

Homeowners can get a discount on trees and help out Douglas County’s 4-H Youth Council at the same time. The money earned from the Seedling Tree sales sponsors many 4-H activities and provides funds for state and national camps.

Sponsored by the Colorado State University (CSU) Cooperative Extension through Douglas County, the Seedling Tree program provides discounted trees for homeowners with two or more acres. High quality trees suitable for Colorado growing conditions are offered through this program.

Trees are sold in lots of 50 for bare root trees and lots of 30 for regular and large potted trees. The trees must be used solely for conservation purposes like windbreaks, wildlife habitat, reforestation and erosion control.

Applications for the Seedling Tree Program are available from the Douglas County Extension Office. Completed order forms are due in March and the trees are delivered to the Douglas County Fairgrounds in early April.

For questions or to get add a name on the initial mailing list call the 4-H office at 720-733-6940 or send an e-mail to kzion@douglas.co.us with contact information, or visit www.douglas.co.us.
