DCSO Gets Help for “Christmas for Kids” From Neighborhood Watch Groups
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is once again playing Santa and helping families in need this holiday season with their annual fundraiser “Christmas for Kids”. Deputies delivered gifts to nearly 30 families and over 100 children as well as supplies that were collected for the Women’s Crisis and Family Outreach Center on December 14th and 15th.
“Christmas for Kids” is in its fourth year and provides gifts to families who need a little extra help during the holiday season. The program is organized and coordinated by the Sheriff’s Office, but wouldn’t be the success it is without the generosity of the community who sponsor families and collect needed supplies.
Many neighborhood watch groups in Douglas County signed up to sponsor a family and/or child including Charter Oaks in Castle Pines North. In addition several Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops raised funds to sponsor families.
Thanks to all those who took the time out of the busy holiday season to help those in need.
