DCS Montessori (DCSM) teacher and Castle Pines resident Ryoko Fusatani’s fourth through sixth grade classes hosted their fifth annual International Tea Party with tea, goodies, and a bit of cultural immersion into European countries like Ireland, Norway, Ukraine, Austria, Belgium and Germany, to name a few.
Fusatani began the annual event when she wanted to share the 400-year-old tradition of Urasenke, which is one of the main schools of the Japanese tea ceremony and means “way of tea.” The internatinal tea tradition has contnued and it is something Fusatani’s classes look forward to every year.
