DCSM charges into spring

What an exhilarating, energizing time of year for DCS Montessori (DCSM)! This Spring has been filled with so much activity as we wrap up the school year.
Our DCSM music teacher, Lorraine Cooper, and our fifth graders, presented a musical extravaganza for the school that was designed around a medieval May Pole celebration. A May Queen was crowned, Castle Pines resident Phoebe Tweed, who reigned with her court. Songs, acting, dances and the traditional wrapping of the May Pole entertained the student body, faculty/staff, and parents.
The Dance Team at DCSM, led by Ms. Karen DePretis, put on an amazing show titled “Dancing Through the Movies.” More than 300 hours went into preparing for this production. With more than 40 members, various costume changes, great visual props, and a range of music to touch every member of the audience. From “Footloose,” “Ghost Busters,” and “Greased Lightening” to “Lion King,” “Hairspray,” and “Mary Poppins,” this show exhibited the talent, energy and fun this group had during the 2011/2012 school year.
Summer is almost upon us and we are already looking forward to the miracles and mayhem waiting for us in the 2012-2013 school year as we welcome our students back and introduce our new seventh grade Middle School program! Jump online to keep up with us at www.DCSMontessori.org.
