With a nip in the air, DCS Montessori School (DCSM) ushered in fall along with all the fun a new season brings.  The yearly tradition of the Fall Festival celebrated the success of the fundraiser last month, the community, a new school year, and of course the coming of fall.

Students, siblings, parents, grandparents, DCSM staff, friends, and the community delighted in the festivities on the brisk October day.  Festival goers enjoyed animal presentations, a DCSM dance team performance, a rock climbing wall, carnival games, bounce houses, the DCouglas COunty Sheriff’s K-9 Unit exhibition, pumpkin decorating, and more.  Local food vendors Las Fajitas, Parry’s Pizza, and Golden Flame Hot Wings were on hand to satisfy cravings, and Coaches Scoop ice cream truck served frozen treats.

When asked about the success of the festival, organizer Amy Goodrich said, “We were so proud of our school community and how it supported Fun Run this year.  Our Fall Festival was a huge “thank you” to everyone.  We had amazing new attractions and heard from many school families that this was our best Fall Festival to date.”

The Fall Festival has become a much-anticipated event throughout the school and community.  In fact, students like Hannah Goodrich are already thinking about next year’s event.  “The Fall Festival was AMAZING!  My favorite attractions were the rock wall and the ice cream truck.  I can’t wait until next year!”
