Cutest Pet in the Pines

Congratulations Jet, a black Labrador who just had his first birthday last month and is the winner of the Cutest Pet in the Pines for 2021. Jet lives with his human family – Kellyann and Tyler Foe and their three children Laila (11), Dylan (9) and Trey (8) in the Hidden Pointe subdivision in the City of Castle Pines. Jet was the best Christmas present of 2020 for the Foe family. Now a year later, he loves to snack on a rawhide chew, chase the ball in the backyard and is Kellyann’s running buddy.
“He runs so fast!” Kellyann exclaimed. “We are working on learning to heel so he doesn’t pull so hard.” Kellyann said Jet is a typical rowdy Lab but is very affectionate. “He’s the baby that gets away with breaking all the rules. He sleeps with the kids and loves to snuggle on the couch,” she continued. “We love him so much and are so glad we got him.”
This year, The Castle Pines Connection partnered with the residents at Legacy Village for a little help choosing the “cutest” pet. Residents voted from photos that were presented on a board and displayed in a common area for all to access.
Jet will receive a $100 gift certificate to The Pet Stuff Place, a basket of goodies and bragging rights for the year. Bode, Ivan and Seymour were runners-up and they will each receive $50 gift certificates.
For the past 9 years, The Connection staff has had the pleasure of seeing the adorable assortment of community pets – all cute for different reasons. We selected two honorable mentions – Artemis and Derbyshire who will each receive a $25 gift certificate.
Thank you to all who submitted photos of your pets. While it is apparent by the submissions that this community loves their dogs – this year we had more photos of feline friends than in any of the previous years. Nevertheless, whether it is choosing between a horse or an iguana, a dog or a cat – it is always such a tough decision choosing just a few winners out of the hundreds of entries we receive. Really, they are all winners in our hearts.
A portion of this year’s proceeds will benefit the Denver Dumb Friends League, so a special thank you to our sponsors for making this contest possible: The Pet Stuff Place, Animal Care Center of Castle Pines, Camp Bow Wow – Castle Rock, Lone Tree Veterinary Medical Center, Fetch!, and The Last Paws.
