CPN Mourns Loss of Local Humanitarian
by Lisa Crockett
Castle Pines North (CPN) has lost one of its most dedicated volunteers. Rod Ellerbusch, a founding member of the Kiwanis Club of Castle Pines, was instrumental in bringing the service club to CPN and in bringing its vision to life.
Founded in 2004, the Kiwanis Club of Castle Pines sponsors an annual golf tournament as part of its fundraising efforts to benefit the “Second Wind Fund,” a teen suicide-prevention program. The annual tournament will now be named in Ellerbusch’s honor. Kiwanis Club of Castle Pines sponsors several community-service projects.
“Those of us who knew Rod know that he devoted much of his time to serving his community through Kiwanis and other organizations,” said Kiwanis Club of Castle Pines President, Dan Cook.
Ellerbusch has been an integral part of Kiwanis for some years, serving as Governor of the Rocky Mountain District in 1989-90, Kiwanis International Trustee 1993-96, and Vice President of Kiwanis International 1996-97.
Kiwanis Club of Castle Pines is the only service club in CPN. The CPN Master Association extends our deepest sympathy to the Ellerbusch family.
