CPN Empty Nesters host social golf group

By Carin R. Kirkegaard

The Castle Pines North (CPN) Empty Nesters golf group have teed off for the season. In May, the group held their first social golfing event at The Ridge Golf Course.

The golf group meets twice a month at either The Ridge in CPN, Red Hawk in Castle Rock and Bear Dance in Larkspur. With a 3:30 p.m. tee time the group plays nine holes and then meets for cocktails, appetizers and socializing.

According to Shelley Hawthorne, the golf coordinator for the Empty Nesters, the group has between 70 and 75 members. The group is open to everyone in CPN who is looking to play golf and are recently retired or whose children have moved out of the house.

“I am really excited to be organizing the Empty Nesters golf group. I love to golf and this is a great way to meet other golfers. Anyone who is interested in doing the same and having some fun would also enjoy the group,” continued Hawthorne.
