The little orange signs pointed the way as the 2009 HBA Parade of Homes made a stop in Castle Pines North. Located in the gated community of Whisper Canyon, the luxury home at 6858 Twisted Oak Drive featured extensive custom stone work, rich cabinetry, and spectacular views of Daniel’s Park.
Nearly 400 people made a stop at the home, receiving a stamp to add to their Home Tour passports.
Usually, the Parade of Homes centers on a specific area of town and contains homes all within the same vicinity. This year, those who partook of the tour first purchased a passport, then toured the homes scattered around the greater metro Denver area.
In this fashion, the organizers of the event respected the recession and its toll on people’s pocketbooks, as well as respecting each of the builders who participated.
Local resident and Colorado native Tom Matthys was the proud builder of this breathtaking, custom home, and was thrilled to be asked to participate in the annual home tour in June.
Matthys has been a custom home builder for nearly eight years, and he chose the location in CPN because of its incredible mountain views, proximity to the middle and high schools, easy access to the freeway, and its added bonus of overlooking the buffalo herd grounds. For these noteworthy reasons, Matthys built a total of five custom homes in the same community.
As a courtesy to the community, Matthys opened up the home for complimentary tours before the actual Parade of Homes began.
Matthys’ wife, Duanna, stated that her husband just loves the neighborhood. They have resided in Castle Pines North for the last seven years, and find the access to all the conveniences of the community to be the reason people would want to live here. To have a custom home built in CPN would be icing on the cake for any discerning buyer.
The five bedroom, seven bathroom luxury home is listed on the market by Fuller Sothebys for $1,875,000.
