County Offers Special Needs Registration
by Terri Wiebold
The Douglas County Emergency Management Special Needs Registry is a database containing information about individuals in Douglas County with special needs who may require assistance in the event of a disaster. The information may also be used to assist emergency personnel and volunteers in providing assistance if called to a residence.
Participation in the Special Needs Registry is voluntary. If you or a loved one are interested in registering, go to www.dcsheriff.net and click on “Special Needs Registry” in the Online Services section of the website or call the sheriff’s office directly at 303-660-7505 for more information.
Additional helpful tips for those with special needs can also be found on page 46 of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Preparedness Guide. Residents who have not received a guide can contact individual HOA representatives to obtain a copy.
