County Commissioner Maxwell Attends CPN Master Association Meeting

County Commissioner Walter “Mike” Maxwell will attend the Castle Pines North Master Association monthly meeting Thursday, August 18. The meeting is held at the CPN Community Center and begins at 7 p.m. Commissioner Maxwell will bring staff representatives from the Commissioner’s Office, County Planning and the Sheriff’s Department.

Topics for discussion may include:

the eventual extension of Castle Pines Parkway and connection to Stroh Road;
the future plans for Daniels Park and the intersection of Daniel’s Park Road and Castle Pines Parkway;
the transfer of the one-acre parcel of land for Castle View Park in which the County holds the title;
the Xcel power line upgrades;
and the posting of political signs.

Sheriff Acree from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department will attend the September CPN Master Association Meeting to address specific safety issues for the community as well as emergency evacuation plans.

The Douglas County Commissioners are the governing board that directs land use, maintains bridges and roads, decides how much money to spend on a variety of services, and oversees the staff in the various County departments.

There are three Douglas County Commissioner Districts. There is one Commissioner who lives in each District. All Douglas County voters elect all three Commissioners. Commissioners serve four-year terms, with staggered election dates.

District I includes the northeastern portions of the County, including Parker and the northern portion of CPN. Walter Maxwell is the current Commissioner from this District.

District II includes the western portion of Highlands Ranch, Castle Rock, and the southern portion of CPN. Steven Boand is the current Commissioner from this District.

District III includes the north-central portion of the county, including Lone Tree and most of Highlands Ranch. Melanie Worley is the current Commissioner from this District is Melanie Worley.
