Contest to Name New Park Underway
Children of our community ages 12 and under are invited to participate in a contest to name our next park.
Plans for a new $5.5 million, 21 acre park are underway, with ground breaking set for this fall. The new park, which will be located adjacent to the CPN Community Center, will feature a multi-purpose athletic field, ball field, playgrounds, picnic pavilions, in-line hockey, a skate park and several unique walking trails.
Approximately 10 acres of land for this new park was donated to CPN by the Lagae family. Additional land for the park is owned by CPN or was donated by Douglas County.
“We want a name that fits with other names in the community,” said Judy Dahl, Metro District Manager. “We hope all children will participate and help us find a great name for this exciting new park.”
The winner will receive a gift certificate and will be recognized at the next Metro District Community Information meeting on June 21st. The winner will also have his or her photo featured in the next issue of The Connection. Entry forms are available at area schools, at the Metro District office at 7404 Yorkshire Drive, or at www.cpnhoa.org.
Entry forms can be dropped off or mailed to the Metro District at 7404 Yorkshire Drive, Castle Rock, 80108. The deadline for entries is May 31st. Limit one entry per person, please.
