Connecting ladies in the neighborhood

Catherine Martinez hosted the first “Sip and Social,” a group of neighbors who gathered to get to know one another. From left to right: Anthonette, Peggy, Catherine, Trudi, Melissa, Julie, and Miriam enjoying refreshments and each other’s company.

Catherine Martinez has lived in Castle Pines for 15 years and realized she only knew a few ladies in her neighborhood. She stated that she would bump into women at King Soopers and Starbucks and later think they would be good to get to know better.

“I belong to many social groups in surrounding towns but I thought ‘why don’t we do something in my own backyard?’” said Martinez.

So, she did something about it. From word of mouth and social media postings, on April 28, Martinez hosted the first “Sip and Social,” a group of neighbors who gathered and got to know each other over a glass of wine. She added that there was no agenda but getting acquainted.

“It was a fun night, sharing laughter, stories and some great food and beverages,” said Martinez.

If any ladies in the neighborhood would like to join, all are invited. Call or text Martinez at (303) 319-9165. “We all need community, so stop by and meet some new friends,” she said.
