From a pool of more than 100 qualified candidates, the City of Castle Pines hired Hannah Button as the City’s new communications and engagement manager. With a background in communications and marketing for municipalities, Button is ready to dive into community engagement strategies, working to improve communication efforts for the City.

“I’d first like to really get to know the Castle Pines community as a whole and understand what is most important to our residents, businesses and stakeholders,” stated Button.

“Hannah demonstrated a true desire to listen and understand the need for quality communication,” stated City Manager Michael Penny. “She demonstrated an ability to take the work of government and communicate it in a way that created value to the community audience. Her approach to the position and her personality is a perfect addition to the incredible staff team that is serving this community,” continued Penny.

Button, a graduate from Colorado State University with a degree in hospitality management and business administration, found her love for marketing and communications on the job.

“I love that the marketing and communications world changes quickly and provides a lot of variety. After working for the Durango School District right out of college, I discovered a passion for sharing important community information and promoting communities and organizations and businesses within that community,” Button commented.

As the former community marketing manager for the City of Golden, Button worked closely with local businesses, nonprofit organizations and the city’s residents. In her role, she directed communications and strategies in the Visit Golden division of the office.

“I enjoyed collaborating with those various groups and coming up with unique ideas to promote Golden as a wonderful place to visit and live. I have always loved talking about what makes a destination enjoyable and have discovered that working for a municipality in a communications or marketing role is a perfect career fit,” Button said.

Button lives with her husband, Cole, their two children and their dog, a red heeler, just to the east of Castle Pines in Elizabeth. She loves spending time with family and friends, going out to eat, mountain biking, hiking, snowboarding and curling up with a good book.

“I am eager to meet more people in the community and want to hear from residents,” Button stated. To reach Button, email her at Hannah.button@castlepinesco.gov or call 720-779-0400.
