City of Castle Pines
Castle Pines City Council voted unanimously to sign a 5-year lease with PT Village Square LLC for space on the second floor of the office building located at 7437 Village Square Drive, where the public works and building departments currently reside. This move would consolidate municipal services into one location.
The City currently leases roughly 2,000 square-feet in Douglas County Libraries – Castle Pines, which is set to expire in 2026. The library space they currently occupy can’t accommodate the growing number of employees, and the City has not yet found a permanent location for a potential future City Hall building.
“I applaud City staff’s efforts to ‘think outside the box’ and find a solution that allows us to take a fiscally conservative approach and remain debt free, while still addressing the pressing need for additional space,” said Mayor Tracy Engerman.
The lease would add 1,904 additional square feet of usable office space and conference rooms for the City, and the library has expressed interest in reclaiming its space for library uses such as coworking and collaboration spaces.
All public meetings would continue to occur in the Event Hall at the Library.
