City Coyote Management Plan
This information has been provided by the City of Castle Pines North
City Council recently adopted a coyote management plan, providing guidelines for responses to conflicts with coyotes while maintaining public safety as its primary emphasis.
The plan seeks to identify and achieve a balance between the importance of human safety and the native ecology of the region. Additionally, the plan provides standard definitions and vocabulary related to coyote management; outlines a consistent, organized and detailed reporting and tracking process for human-coyote interactions; and provides response processes for human-coyote related reports.
To assist with coyote tracking, citizens are encouraged to complete the online coyote incident report form, available on the City web site, www.cpngov.com. The web site also includes urban coyote FAQs and a home audit checklist. Please visit the City’s web site to read the full coyote management plan and find out more about this important topic.
