Castle Rock Rec Center Expansion Near Completion

The Castle Rock Recreation Center’s expansion and improvement plan has been progressing during the past two years, and is almost complete.

Enhancements expected to be completed this year include a remodeled and expanded circuit room, free weight room, cardiovascular area, family changing room, and a two-story addition.

“The two-story addition includes three new toddler rooms located on the second level and a new aerobics and group exercise studio conveniently located next to the remodeled cardiovascular area,” said Kathy Anderson, Marketing Specialist for the Castle Rock Parks and Recreation Department.

In the spring of 2006, a multi-use leisure pool, whirlpool, and steam room will also be completed.

The leisure pool will include two slides, one of which will be a tube slide and the other a body slide for a faster ride. The slides are enclosed and are located outside of the building, but are heated by warm running water, so you can slide on the coldest days of winter! Also included in the leisure pool will be a lazy river, a multi-use area for water aerobics and a zero depth entry area for small children.

“The Castle Rock Recreation Center is moving forward with new trends that include a modern design, state of the art fitness equipment, larger workout areas, and a larger toddler area to accommodate more participants and programs. A grand opening will be scheduled for the leisure pool in the spring of 2006. Don’t miss it!” concludes Anderson.

Castle Pines North is not part of the Town of Castle Rock and CPN residents must pay the non-resident rates when visiting the Castle Rock Rec Center.
