Castle Pines North Piranhas End Season

Community spirit ran high at the pools of HOA1 and HOA2 this summer. Children from all over Castle Pines North spent many hours of this summer’s hot weather perfecting their strokes and competing in meets. Parents also joined in the fun, volunteering to help run the home meets held at the HOA2 pool.

One of the goals for the team this season was to raise $3,000 to help in purchasing and installing diving blocks at both the HOA1 and HOA2 pools. Swim team parents ran a concession stand at home meets and the team sold t-shirts with a newly designed logo for the Castle Pines North Piranhas. All proceeds went to the block fundraiser.

Stephanie Coray, a team coach reflected on the season. “Our young team has made amazing progress over the past few years. We’ve gone from having fewer than 40 swimmers, to over 100, where we used to struggle to schedule three meets a summer, we now have no problem putting seven or more on the calendar.”

The Piranhas ended their season with an intramural meet and team party at the HOA2 pool. Under management by Team Colorado, this was the Piranhas’ third season.
