Castle Pines North Foundation – A way to give back to the community
by Carin R. Kirkegaard
Nearly 12 years ago the Castle Pines North Foundation (CPNF) was created as a way to provide monetary, land and other forms of gifts for the growth and betterment of current and future parks in Castle Pines North.
In the beginning, the board for the CPNF encouraged developers, builders and individuals to make tax deferred donations of cash and property to the foundation
“Land contributions were made in the beginning,” said Tom Weldon, CPNF founding board member. “The generosity from those solicited was amazing,” he said.
Today, Weldon hopes to bring awareness to the organization’s existence. Qualified as a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, the CPNF provides an opportunity for those looking for benefits with tax and estate planning.
“Anyone can simply make a tax deductible contribution of cash, property or playground equipment in the name of a loved one,” continued Weldon.
Currently the board is served by two of the three founding members, Weldon and Sandy Colling. The board is seeking a third member. Interested individuals can contact Weldon at contact by e-mail.
