Castle Pines North Councilperson Darwin Horan steps down
Dear residents and fellow neighbors,
It has been an honor and a privilege to serve as your city council representative for Ward 1 these past few months. I appreciate you placing your trust in me, and it is with great regret that I must now resign my position.
The very reasons you elected me to serve you are the same reasons I am no longer able to fulfill my term in office. As a local land developer and potential water storage provider, my business dealings in surrounding municipalities have potential impacts on the future of the City of Castle Pines North.
Recently, the timelines for several of the projects I am involved in have been unexpectedly accelerated. I do not want to be in a position to have to recuse myself from council business due to potential perceived conflicts of interest, especially moving into the future. The residents of Castle Pines North deserve to have a full council making these important decisions on their behalf.
As I have done for the past twenty years, I will continue to provide my expertise and resources in any way I can to assist the Castle Pines North community. This is an exciting time for the city, with many opportunities for positive change and growth. I look forward to continuing to help in any way I can.
Your neighbor,
Darwin Horan
