Castle Pines library gets a boost from business community

On Tuesday, November 29, representatives of Douglas County Libraries accepted generous donations from Interstate Highway Construction and The Canyons, and publicly thanked both organizations for their support of Castle Pines Library.
The event was attended by key members of the donating businesses, Castle Pines Library staff, and the Castle Pines Library Campaign Committee, which was instrumental in securing the gifts.
Interstate Highway Construction is improving streets in Castle Pines, including main thoroughfares Monarch Boulevard and Castle Pines Parkway. The company donated $2,000 to the Castle Pines Library campaign.
A $2,500 donation was also made by The Canyons, a planned community in the City of Castle Pines, which will be developed in the coming years.
“That so many local business owners and community members have stepped up to help our campaign is amazing,” said Amy Long, department head at Castle Pines Library. “Businesses like The Canyons and IHC have a stake in the success and longevity of the community. Their generosity means a lot to us.”
So far in 2011, the library campaign has raised more than $40,000. Upcoming fundraising efforts include the chance to sponsor the library for a day, an early-2012 series of “Dine Out for the Library” events sponsored by local restaurants, and a pancake breakfast at Applebee’s in Castle Rock to be held January 21, 2012.
