Castle Pines Arts and Cultural Foundation receives nonprofit status

The Castle Pines Arts and Cultural Foundation, a local group that supports arts programming in the community, has received non-profit status, which will allow for future funding opportunities. The Castle Pines Arts and Cultural Foundation (CPACF) is now officially a 501(c)(3) organization, which gives it non-profit status. This new status gives the group new avenues for funding and allows supporters to make tax-deductible donations.
“We are now eligible to apply for grant money,” said CPACF board member Sarah Tweed, who coordinated the application process for the foundation. “We are now able to seek funding from groups like the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District, which we hope will help us bring more programs and events to Castle Pines.”
Tweed, along with fellow board members Joan Millspaugh, Vicky Kellen and Cheryl McGovern were involved in the application process, which entailed providing the State of Colorado with a narrative of the group’s history and future goals along with documentation of how the group helps the community. Tweed said popular events like concerts at Cherokee Castle & Ranch, chalk art at OctoberFest, and the week-long Missoula Children’s Theater workshop are the kinds of things that make the community a better place to live, and the start of great things for CPACF.
“We really think this new status will help us move forward,” said Tweed.
Inaugural holiday ornaments will again go on sale in Castle Pines at Walgreens, outside Castle Rock Bank and outside King Soopers in mid-November. Proceeds benefit the CPACF. The CPACF is also seeking a board member, someone who is passionate about the arts and the Castle Pines community.
