Buffalo Stampede seeks sponsors

by Carin R. Kirkegaard

Buffalo Ridge Elementary (BRE) is seeking sponsors for the Second Annual Buffalo Stampede, the school’s annual fall carnival.

The Buffalo Ridge Education Alliance (BREA), the school’s parent teacher organization, is currently offering sponsorships to help offset costs of the carnival, including inflatable structures, dunk tank, carnival games, face painting, refreshments and others.

Sponsors receive recognition at all booths and activities, a link to its business website from the BREA website, as well as being listed as a corporate sponsor for BRE for the entire year.

“This will be our biggest fundraiser of the year,” said Angela Carlson, vice president of Ways and Means for the BREA. According to Carlson, the school needs to cut $105,000 from the budget and is asking the BREA for $50,000 to offset supply costs.

The Stampede was a huge success last year with more than 600 people in attendance. With plans for another dunk tank and a pie throwing contest featuring teachers and staff from the school, next year’s event is already shaping up to be a huge success.
