BRE fun run and field day

Students at Buffalo Ridge Elementary held their annual fun run fundraiser earlier this school year. The kids ran as many laps on the 1/16-mile track as they could in 30 minutes and collected a bracelet for every lap to help them keep track. Each class dressed in their school spirit colored T-shirt and added additional class spirit accessories to compete for the class with the most spirit. Mrs. Shaffner’s third grade class was “Shaff’s Snack Attack.” Students attached snack wrappers to their green school spirit shirts. Some other classes had superhero, hippy or holiday themes.

A week after the fun run, students celebrated their fundraising success with field day. The weather was decidedly colder, but students didn’t seem to mind too much as they participated in relay games, enjoyed an inflatable bounce house and obstacle course, and challenged each other in girls versus boys tug-of-war games.
