BRE fifth-graders have an evolutionary performance
By Kathy Fallert
BRE fifth-grade students shook, shimmied, hula-hooped, and back flipped their way (among many other things) to perform “The Evolution of Dance” on April 19 in the school’s gymnasium.
Led by music teacher Cathy Deneault and P.E. teacher Ronda Gutierrez, the kids performed to a full house and displayed some star dancing and gymnastic skills. The students all dressed in theme from the 1920s through the 1980s while singing and dancing to music from those eras. A highlight of the evening was a legendary performance by the quadruplets (pictured top center) Guy, Everett, Severin and Lincoln Kimball as the Village People balancing on yoga balls while performing “YMCA.”
