BRE fifth grade goes to the movies

Fifth grade students Barrett R., Hudson C., Graham A., Youssef G. and Cooper E. Took the spotlight during the annual show. They performed a song by Eminem from the movie 8 Mile.

Every year, Buffalo Ridge Elementary’s fifth graders spend months creating and practicing a show that they perform at a school-wide assembly and for parents in an evening performance.

This year, students took the audience to the movies, singing famous songs from movies and performing dance vignettes. Students also recorded commercial and trailer short reels and spoofed the AMC Theatre slogan, “We make movies better.” The performance included a light show.

The students danced and sang to “I’m Just Ken” from Barbie, “Sunflower” from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and “Mr. Blue Sky” from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. They sang along with Kermit the Frog to “Rainbow Connection” and to songs from The Little Mermaid and The Karate Kid. The iconic dance from Napoleon Dynamite was the grand finale.

Neely B., Delaney M., Kynlee M. And Avery B. Showed off gymnastic skills during the theme song from 9 to 5.
