BMW Championship map gives nod to skiing culture

Colorado is a state that offers its residents many opportunities to stay active. Every year, Douglas County is ranked among the top five healthiest countries in the country by U.S. News and World Report; today we are number three.
Skiing of course is one of the favorite winter pastimes and the Rocky Mountain ski slopes are some of the best in the U.S. if not the world. Castle Pines residents take advantage of the slopes, many ski resorts just two hours away.
The BMW Championship paid homage to Colorado’s skiing culture: the map given to tournament attendees at the Castle Pines Golf Club (CPGC) is a facsimile of a ski mountain map. If you have hit the slopes anywhere, this should give you a chuckle.
Even the destinations along the golf course map have been given ski slope ratings: green, blue and black (or a combination thereof) to give spectators an idea of the difficulty and distance of the walk from point A to point B. With distance and elevation changes at CPGC, and certainly some high-temperature days that the August sun can bring, golf tournament attendees should heed the locations of the concession and medical stands.
But mostly, enjoy the views of Colorado’s majesty at one of the most beautiful courses in Colorado.
